Viewers are delighted! The new season of Temptation Island begins this Wednesday January 15, 2025 on W9. Delphine Wespiser welcomes five new couples for the occasion: Julie and Arnaud, Chloé and Enah, Jimmy and Sandra, Marine and Hugo as well as Cory and Julian. Everyone will encounter tempters and temptresses on both sides of the camp, which will inevitably lead to complicated situations. During the campfires, the truth will be revealed through images, enough to cause chaos for some. Who will allow themselves to be seduced and on the contrary who will resist temptation? While waiting to find out, Delphine Wespiser gave an exclusive interview to TV News in which she gives, among other things, some information on the new profiles and what she is forbidden to do on set.

TV News: Why did you agree to resume your role as presenter for the second year in a row?

Delphine Wespiser: Because it’s a show that helps five couples per season. They can represent us all because we all ask ourselves questions when we are in a relationship. My role is to be the messenger of truth. And even if it hurts, it doesn’t matter. It’s important to hear it. It’s better to have a truth that hurts than a well-told lie.

How are the tempters and temptresses this season?

They are all very beautiful. I prefer to call them bachelors rather than tempters, since they are all looking for love. Their role is neither more nor less to see if there is a crush with the person opposite. And if there is a crush while the person is in a relationship, it’s not their fault! This perhaps means that the couple has come to an end. Personally, I rejoice in the happiness of couples, whether it is an initial couple or one formed in Temptation Island.

Are there any differences from last year’s candidates?

There are people who have only been in a relationship for a few months and need to know if they are wasting their time or not. There are some who have been together for 5 years and who have plans for the future. There is also one person who likes it much less than the other… We really have all the profiles!

Did you meet them before filming?

I had a brief on each of them. I watched videos to see how they behaved but I discovered them on the island and they revealed themselves! There is something very transparent about this experience. We end up knowing each other like friends, we know each other’s faults and qualities. Viewers will be able to identify with them. It’s good to have images that allow us to recognize people who can manipulate us. I think there’s a couple a bit like that where the girl doesn’t want to see what’s happening and accepts a lot of things even though the exchange doesn’t seem that sincere.

Are there any restrictions on the set of Temptation Island?

I’m not allowed to talk to couples off camera even though I would love to. I compensate once the show is over and generally, it’s the candidates who come to me. We continue to build bonds because for me, they are a bit like my little brothers and my little sisters. I want them to be happy in love because there are many who have had it tough.

What do you think of viewers’ enthusiasm for Temptation Island?

It’s a utility show, everyone recognizes themselves in all of that. You look and say to yourself: “What if it was me?” People are thinking, they are looking but at the same time they are thinking about themselves or they are thinking about what they have experienced.

If you had to take the place of the candidates, what would be unforgivable for you?

It is the lie that is unforgivable for me. More than betrayal. We had that this season, people who made mistakes and who denied having done it. Even in front of the images, they invented amnesia. You have to take responsibility for things and be in the truth!

Do you have any news from former participants?

Of course, I kept in touch with almost everyone. When I felt that there was a little water in the gas between some people, I sent a little message to find out if everything was okay. Others confided in me, because there were couples who got back together but then separated.

Maëva is still in a relationship with her tempter, Malek, what do you think?

Luckily she came to the island because she met the right person.

Which couple from last year are most like you?

Unfortunately that of Salomé and Timothy. I had a story with a narcissistic pervert, who invented blowjobs for sleeping on his feet. That’s exactly what Timothy was doing. The bigger it was, the more it worked! On the other hand, Salomé had savior syndrome and wanted to try to understand him and save him. It didn’t work…
