Meghan is a princess. A princess of hearts

“There, we can better see Princess Markle with her baseball cap, chatting with some volunteers.” Commenting on a report devoted to the recent visit of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the victims of the fires in Los Angeles, a journalist from Fox 11 inadvertently attributed an undue title to the Duchess of Sussex. It was enough to trigger a trench war on social networks.

“YES, Meghan is a princess. A princess of hearts”, “I love it”, “The haters will boil”, “Hearing “Princess Markle” on a professional media outside the United Kingdom, it feels so good”, “They should have added Her Highness Royal for emm… the haters”, “It’s false, she’s a queen”, ignite, on the one hand, the fans of the former actress fallen, with her husband, of her title of royal highness leaving life monarchical.

But Fox 11’s dumpling wasn’t to everyone’s taste. Starting with certain royalists, who hastened, on X, to correct each of the publications devoted to the ducal couple: “Princess of Wales. Princess Catherine. Princess Kate. Catherine Middleton. Kate Middleton. Prince of Wales. Prince William. Prince Harry. Meghan Markle. Or this other Internet user who writes, tagging Fox News: “Meghan Markle IS NOT a princess!”

Friday January 10, 2024, the Dukes of Sussex participated in the distribution of food to Angelinos who lost everything in the fires. An initiative strongly criticized by actress Justine Bateman, seen in the series “Desperate Housewives”: “What a disgusting “photo shoot” they carried out. They “take a look at the damage”? They are politicians now? They don’t live here, they’re tourists,” she said on X.

For a week, uncontrollable fires have ravaged southern California and more particularly the upscale neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades and Malibu where many stars live. Among them, Billy Crystal, Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and the couple Leighton Meester-Adam Brody saw their house go up in smoke.

Meghan and Harry live further north on the coast, in Montecito, near Santa Barbara. They would have donated essential goods and money via their Archewell foundation, and would have offered to accommodate their acquaintances who no longer have a roof over their heads. In view of the situation, Meghan, heroine of a new culinary documentary series scheduled for Netflix from January 15, announced that she had postponed the release of this show to March 4.

“I am grateful to my partners at Netflix for helping me delay the launch while we focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan Markle says in a press release from the platform.
