In Ivory Coast, the host of the show “The Real Match”, Braising Girl, wanted to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of influencer Dan Marcel.
“Regarding what people said about the fact that everything was closed around him during his illness, it should be noted that I was able to see him. I was there and am still in contact with his parents.
At first it wasn’t that closed off because I saw him several times after his birthday. CRegarding this story of poisoning, I do not want to go into too many details, but it is true that many had noticed that he was not in good health that day.
However, I did not want to fuel controversy around this rumor, because it is completely false.
I saw a woman on social media, claiming to be his aunt, confirming this rumor. When I called her father to see if he knew her, he said he didn’t know her and she wasn’t part of their family. Unfortunately, it was on TikTok that this rumor gained momentum.
I knew that if I went out on the networks to deny it, it would raise even more questions. I preferred to avoid this and pray for his recovery, because it is not the role of a friend to act otherwise in such a situation.
The last time I saw him was on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, before my trip to Senegal. We were at the Cocody University Hospital and were transferred to PISAM by ambulance. That day, I missed my show Le Vrai Match.
I spoke to her and said: “It’s Inès, I’m here with you until the end, I’m not letting you go.” » When we arrived at PISAM, we realized that the fees were going to be expensive, especially without knowing how long he would stay there. His father then authorized me to seek financial aid, which I did by contacting certain authorities on Thursday.
On Friday, I left for Senegal, but I felt terribly worried. During the flight, all I did was cry, because Marcel was part of my daily life.
Once I arrived in Dakar, I went online to check for updates and was relieved to learn that authorities had responded to help with the costs. Strangely, that night I slept very well, but the next morning everything changed.
My first instinct was to pick up my phone to read messages and get news. Nothing seemed dramatic at first, but a friend, Nadiya, called me back. She said to me: “Inès…” and then I understood. This is how I learned of the news of Marcel’s death. I was alone in my hotel room, and this moment was indescribable. I wouldn’t even wish it on my worst enemy.
As I always say, Kevine, it was work that brought us together, but Marcel was different. It was life, obvious. We had the same outlook on life, which ended up creating a trio. Marcel was my person”she confided.
