Stéphane Plaza speaks at his trial of the dyspraxia from which he suffers to defend himself from domestic violence

JUSTICE – Stéphane Plaza at the bar. The presenter of Search for apartment or house on M6 is judged in Paris for “habitual physical and/or psychological violence by partner” between 2018 and 2022 on two former companions. The host, who faces ten years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros, denies being a violent man.

One of the complainants – Amandine, who spoke this Thursday – had, during the investigation, described having suffered four episodes of violence and humiliation. Including one in the spring of 2022, during which Stéphane Plaza twisted the fingers of one hand. Findings confirmed by an x-ray. Assessment? Two dislocations and a bone tear. She also assures that he has “strangled” with his forearm.

« A force that should not have been »

At the bar, the defendant was first asked to react to text messages sent to Amandine after this violent episode. “You push me to the limit, and I lose my temper, that’s the reality. The most violent man in the world. I kiss you tenderly »had notably written the star of M6 to his partner. “With this text, one might think that you admit to having committed violence”the president pointed out to him.

Response from the principal concerned? “It was taken out of context. » “I take her hands and spread them, but I can’t control my strength because I’m dyspraxic and clumsy (…) and I don’t see that she’s in pain”he added, denying in passing that he had strangled the victim.

Stéphane Plaza pleads a “ unintentional act, an unfortunate accident ” with ” a force that should not have been”while recognizing that he was able “ hurt him » with this gesture. “ I already broke a finger or dislocated a thumb while saying hello », continued the host, who claims to have “injured a number of people, even on film sets”due to his dyspraxia.

“I myself could have accidentally injured myself”he added about this neurological disorder. A dyspraxia that Stéphane Plaza mentioned for the first time in May 2020 in an Instagram post. And which he presented to his subscribers as follows: “ It is an alteration of the communication between the brain and the body, the two work very well, but not together! »

« Clumsiness, dyslexia, difficulty controlling one’s strength and tying shoelaces, complicated organization, storage, time tracking, and difficulty washing alone among other things… but great creativity! », he listed among the consequences of this handicap which he boasted of sharing with several stars and famous personalities.

Amandine had “ struggling to get out of it all »

Questioned this Thursday at the hearing by an assessor on the intentionality of his gesture despite this coordination problem, the host detailed his perception of the scene. “ I take my hand to push it aside. She doesn’t touch me. But she gets closer to me… I push her aside “, he soberly replied.

Amandine, like Paola, the other complainant in this case, had both obtained total incapacity for work (ITT) of more than eight days for this recurring violence. Paola, who had not yet been heard at the time of these exchanges in the courtroom, only accuses the real estate agent of psychological violence.

The debates therefore focused on the continuation of the relationship between Amandine and Stéphane Plaza, allowing his ex-partner to explain his difficulty in putting an end to this relationship, despite other humiliating episodes, including one during a trip to Morocco. “He oscillated: he took care of me, but that could change in 48 hours and everything falls apart”testified Amandine, who continues to live in “fear”.

« I was in love, I worked for him, we lived in his apartment. And there were better times. So I had a hard time getting out of all that », continued the complainant, questioned by the president about this relationship which lasted five years.
