It was at the age of 4 that his parents enrolled him in his first dance lessons, then in a first school in Waterloo two years later. She tried judo or synchronized swimming but dancing quickly became obvious. “I was immediately hooked and knew it was for me. I feel good when I dance, I can let go, forget everything else and experience emotions. I’m shy but not anymore when I dance.”

At 8 years old, Margaux joined the Dutch-speaking dance school Ballerino, in Lembeek. A turning point. She progressed quickly and well and quickly participated in her first competitions (YAGP in , international competition in , etc.)

“My selection for Prodiges, the happiest day of my life”

One day, his dance teacher, Magali Beraël, suggested that he sign up for the show Prodigies broadcast on 2, a competition between several children divided into three categories: classical music, singing and classical dance, Margaux’s favorite field. “I sent several photos and videos then there were remote auditions before I was called to announce my selection. It was the happiest day of my life, a dream come true. “

The show’s production then sent Margaux the two pieces to which she would have to dance, the first for the semi-final and the second for a possible final. “With my teacher, we created the two choreographies and I was able to train, at home and then in Paris.”

It was at the beginning of September that Margaux went to Paris. “Initially, it was for a week to prepare for the semi-final but as I found myself in the final, I stayed there for fifteen days. I couldn’t reveal anything, the secret was hard to keep because I had I wanted to tell everyone about it, but since I stayed there for a long time, a lot of girls from my dance school who didn’t see me coming back suspected that it had gone well.”

Effectively. She won over the jury during her semi-final and certainly the choreographer and star dancer Marie-Claude Pietragalla, her lifelong idol, who appreciated her performance: “It’s so beautiful, poetic, magnificent. Margaux has extraordinary abilities with incredible footwork and rigor in her work.”

“I didn’t win the show but I won everything”

Qualified for the final but without victory at the end, she said to herself “very happy with my two performances. I didn’t win the show but I won everything. I wanted to convey emotions and I know that many people shed a tear. The stage fright, the stress and above all the fear of doing wrong were very present when going on stage but everything went well.”

The objective is more than achieved. “It was a great human experience and I found the jurors’ remarks very constructive.”

Enough to continue working and progressing with the idea of ​​one day becoming a professional dancer. “Other competitions are coming and within a year, I would like to join a major school abroad, in Paris, London or Amsterdam.”
