While ASSE can count on its supporters in the race to maintain its position, international actor Timothée Chalamet supports the Forez club. The one who played in Dune or Interstellar tells an unusual anecdote.
ASSE fan since forever
Born in New York, Timothée Chalamet grew up in a Franco-American family. Although he studied in the United States, little Chalamet developed his passion for ASSE during regular vacations at Chambon-sur-Lignon in Haute-Loire. “It’s my childhood football team”the actor testified for the television show Quotidien in early 2024.
Timothée Chalamet had already appeared in the green tunic on numerous occasions. In 2019, the actor showed up on the NBC channel with the Stéphanois jersey from the 2017-2018 season offered by Loïc Perrin. The latter even distributed ASSE scarves and caps in February 2024 during the promotion of his new film Dune part 2.
“The team I support the most in the world”
In an interview with View media, Timothée Chalamet shed light on his passion for the team crowned ten times champion of France.
“In Saint-Étienne, you chased the team up a hill to the hotel by bike? “The journalist in question then asks him. But at first surprised by the question, the Franco-American actor says.
Timothée Chalamet: “But what world did you find that from (laughing)? I followed the team up there. I just followed them. Bafetimbi Gomis, Dimitri Payet. It was this generation of ASSE players. I I'm a big fan of Saint-Étienne. Probably the team I support the most in the world. More than the New York Knicks (editor's note: American basketball team).“
