Several incidents broke out this Friday, December 27 afternoon in the streets of Lyon. Near Place Bellecour, a group of young individuals set off firecrackers and fireworks. Two people were arrested by the police, including a minor, according to information from Progress.
“A little moment in the window”
Also, at the corner of rue d’Anvers and avenue Jean-Jaurès, in 7e district of Lyon, a group of around twenty individuals, dressed all in black and hooded, caused disturbances. Chairs were thrown and trash cans set on fire before the police intervened. Some storefronts were slightly damaged.
“We had a little break in the window, but we were rather lucky compared to others around,” reports a hairdresser at Progress. “It took the police a few minutes to intervene, and the group fled as soon as they saw them,” adds the store manager.
The authorities have not yet communicated regarding possible investigations.
