“Ou la! So there, friends”: Pascal Praud plunged into darkness, reinvents himself live

This Friday, December 20, 2024, Pascal Praud was at the helm of a new issue of his show Time for the proson CNEWS (and broadcast simultaneously on Europe 1). And, during the show, the 60-year-old presenter and his team had a funny surprise as viewers were able to discover.

Pascal Praud's show disrupted by a technical problem

Everything started well for Pascal Praud and his columnists. The announcement of the titles and the news flash went off without a hitch. But then a technical problem disrupted the broadcast. As he greeted and introduced the people around him on set, the lights suddenly went out. “Or there! So there, friends. Fiat lux“, he said. Then, with his columnists, Catherine Bancarel's companion began to sing the song Good kisses from Fort-de-of the Creole Company.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. We are, as you have understood, plunged in darkness. Look, it's not a big deal. So I would like to point out that if you are in front of your post, don't change anything, it's an effect. We are forced to do this show, but we are going to continue because, ultimately, people don't see us but that's not a big deal, they hear us, we're going to do radio. I say this for our friends from Europe 1 who listen to us, it doesn't change much for them because it's radio“, he tried to explain. Pascal Praud, however, quickly wanted to know if the video subjects could be visible to viewers. And, when he had just received a positive response, the light gradually returned. “We're back. Listen it's Christmas, it's the spirit of Christmasl”, he rejoiced. Then, he continued with his show as if nothing had happened. A Christmas present which he would undoubtedly have done without.

This is not the first time that Pascal Praud has had to face an unforeseen event. In September 2021, for example, Pascal Praud had to deal with sound problems. For several minutes he spoke without the sound of his voice being heard. “We apologize for this interruption, the rest of your programs in a moment“, was written on a banner broadcast on a loop. But once again, the presenter was able to return to the air normally.
