More fear than harm. While she is the guest of honor at the Les Arcs festival, dedicated to independent European cinema, the actress Karin Viard took advantage of his presence in the Alps to go skiing.
But the release was not planned and the actress was the victim of a head trauma.
“What talent! »
It was Karin Viard herself who announced the news on Instagram this Sunday, December 15, 2024. In a video, we can see the actress with three Caesars lying on a litter in the snow, ready to be evacuated.
“And head trauma after skiing!” It’s called talent!!!!”, she wrote.
Comments from members of the “great cinema family” were not long in coming. Josiane Balasko wish “good luck” to “ [sa] darling”, Julie Delpy wishes him “a good recovery.
Hélène de Fougerolles sends “courage” and specifies “I don’t want to go to the mountains anymore!! It freaks me out so much! »
The actress on her feet the next day
If the video was posted on Sunday December 15, this Monday, Karin Viard seems to be doing much better.
In a photo still posted on the social network Instagram, she indicates that “everything is fine” and is once again present at the Les Arcs festival to “enjoy the great cinema selection”.
4,500 deaths per year
More fear than harm for the actress therefore, and fortunately. As the Brain Institute indicates on its site, “Brain damage following these traumas is a common cause of disability and the number of deaths per year is estimated at 3%, or around 4,500 people.”
The symptoms of head trauma are multiple, ranging from simple headaches to vomiting or neurological effects such as aphasia or visual disturbances.
“In some cases, a rehabilitation is necessary to allow patients to recover their motor and cognitive functions,” concludes the brain institute.
