After each of his UFC fights, Paddy Pimblett gains weight. The fighter returned to this habit which provokes a lot of reaction.

Paddy Pimblett (22-3) was perhaps more notable for his post-fight weight gains than the fights themselves. Arriving at the UFC in 2021, the Englishman was directly seen as the potential next star of the American organization. A former Cage Warriors champion, 'The Baddy' has won all six of his UFC fights as well as four performance bonuses of the night. He notably beat Jordan Leavitt by submission, Tony Ferguson by unanimous decision and put Bobby Green to sleep in his last appearance in the octagon. As surprising as it may seem, it is not these performances that have attracted the most attention.

Paddy Pimblett explains his weight gains

Paddy Pimblett fights at lightweight, i.e. under 70 kg. A few days after the events, the 29-year-old athlete was unrecognizable. He gains more than ten kilos, but always manages to make weight before fights to continue competing in his division in the UFC. The Briton returned to these weight gains during an appearance on the show StillTalkingShow :

“Today I am back to my normal weight. I walk around at 88kg. After a week of fighting, I ended up reaching 95 kg or something like, maybe 93 kg. It's just that you've exhausted your body. He remembers everything. I put it on half starvation mode during the week to lose weight. The body clings to everything. So as soon as I eat salty things, it retains water on me. That's why I look bloated and I look fat. These are my cheeks. They are simply swollen. It's just because I overdo it, I'll be honest. »

For the moment, this mode of operation has not prevented Paddy Pimblett from winning, even if many observers think that he will not be able to do that for long. For his part, 'The Baddy' has complete confidence in his abilities, and even believes he would beat reigning champion Islam Makhachev. Currently ranked thirteenth, he will need to pick up a few more wins before he can face Khabib's protégé.
