In particular on his breakup with Véronique Colucci, which occurred in the early 1980s and which had a profound impact on the founder of Restos du coeur.
A life filled with success, love, but also many excesses… On the evening of Friday, November 22, the C8 channel broadcast Coluche, the true story of a guy : a documentary which retraces the life of the late actor who died in June 1986 in a tragic motorcycle accident, through the eyes of those who knew him. If the comedian left his mark on many generations thanks in particular to his sketches, his films and the creation of Restos du Cœur, in private, he was, according to those close to him, a man who lived in excess, consuming alcohol and drugs in a worrying manner. “We got home at least at eight in the morning. […] It's not a life“, recalled his friend, Pierre Chérèze. A pace of life which pushed his former wife, Véronique, to leave him.

At the beginning of the 1980s, after twelve years of living together and two children (Romain and Marius Colucci, born respectively in 1972 and 1976), Véronique Colucci – who died in April 2018 following a long illness – decided to put a end his relationship with Coluche. Faced with the comedian's heavy consumption of alcohol and drugs and his numerous late nights out with friends, Véronique had had enough and, therefore, chose to leave with her children. “She went through hell with him“, sadly remembered the filmmaker Coline Serreau. A breakup which had completely broken the actor. “It was a difficult time for him. He was a drug addict, divorced, he missed his children… He could be mean“, revealed his friend Robert Charlebois to Parisianin February 2023.

Still in the documentary Coluche, the true story of a guythe composer Ramon Pipin then spoke a little more about the state of his late friend after the departure of Véronique. According to him, after his breakup, Coluche then wrote a song entitled Filthy sun. A title sung by Renaud but whose text, written by the comedian is “extremely depressed“. “I didn't like how you left. I felt my head hit the pole. You wanted us to remain good friends. I can no longer see myself in the photos“, he wrote, with a heavy heart.
