FriendsEddy Mitchell's 40th studio album, was due to be released on November 9. Seven to Eight : Eddy Mitchell announces having contracted pneumonia
The artist is the subject of the famous “Portrait of the Week” by Audrey Crespo-Mara, who revealed on social networks, in preview, an extract from their interview. The journalist started the interview by asking her 82-year-old guest: “How are you ? We were supposed to see each other three weeks agos”. “It's going slowly… I had pneumonia“, revealed Eddy Mitchell, who recently revealed the name of the political party he will never vote for. “Is it smoker's lungs?“, repeated his interlocutor. “Yes, and for a long time! Since the age of 14. I stopped a month ago. We'll see. (…) Alcohol is over too. But it was more a mania than anything else. There was no fun, really“, he confided. In his Autobiography published on November 7, the musician talks about this addiction which led him to consume “one to two bottles of whiskey per day“.
Eddy Mitchell without filter on the excesses of Johnny Hallyday
It was the doctors who asked him to eradicate these substances from his daily life: “They say you shouldn't smoke, you shouldn't drink, you shouldn't eat fatty foods… You shouldn't give a damn, that's it. We follow more or less“. Eddy Mitchell remembers, however, that his great friend Johnny Hallyday pushed the excesses even further: “Johnny smoked a lot more! I smoked a pack, he smoked two packs“. In Sept à Huit, tomorrow, he will return in particular to their memorable tour of Old Canailles with Jacques Dutronc: “He was in great shape. Besides, the doctors who were following him came to see me to thank me. I had nothing to do with it! They told me: 'you gave him a wonderful time, he forgot he was in chemo'. It's true that it was a beautiful evening“.
