When you are followed by more than 200,000 people on your Instagram account, you give a little thought to the messages you want to convey in your publications. And when we add the job of mother to that of influencer, we sometimes manage to find the strength and motivation to accomplish feats that seemed impossible to us. This is the case for Sandra Sisley, queen of Parisian evenings and former smoker, who joins Doctor Gérald Kierzek on the set of the show Doctor, I stopped on Top Santé TV.
Until the end of 2023, the influencer was addicted to tobacco. She admits it easily. “I was a living cigarette. I had associated cigarettes with all my emotions. It accompanied me everywhere. It was a gestural crutch, an attitude that I really liked.” She smoked at least 30 cigarettes per dayand its consumption could double in the evening, when it could reach two and a half packets.
“I loved cigarettes so much that even the physical side effects didn't interest me. I loved it.”
The importance of support from a health professional
At the start of 2024, traction alopecia forced him to undergo a hair transplant. To heal properly, it is essential to stop smoking for at least six days. “And then
my 16 year old son, Dino, challenged me noticing that I had not yet fought the battle of quitting smoking. He stung me. He knew that each cigarette reduced my life expectancy, and the time spent with him.” These two elements make her think.
And fate intervenes when she does an interview near the offices of a vaping company, where she finds her new passion: hazelnut flavored vape. While she considered vapers to be “nerdy people”she quickly adheres to this tool. As part of its weaningshe is accompanied by a doctor who advised him
patches in addition to the vaporizer.
Sandra Sisley: “I'm not doing a sprint, I'm doing a marathon”
Her community, very committed and very caring, is happy for her, as are her loved ones. “My husband Tomer and my children are super proud of me. All the people who love me are super surprised. There is a stupefaction, a stupefaction among some.” However, she does not forget the smokers in her community, whom she refuses to judge. “Everyone does what they can. Injunctions, when you're addicted to something, it takes your head. When you smoke you know it's bad, but you're addicted. And you need a will very strong for fight this poison that we love.”
Today, vaping has allowed him to find smell, flavors, and breath. But for the future, Sandra Sisley is determined to maintain her long-term objectives.
“I want to do things at my own pace. My goal is not to start smoking again. I'm not doing a sprint, I'm doing a marathon. And this marathon is about quitting cigarettes in the long term. If I need a crutch to walk, I keep it. It’s a long fight and when you get there, you do yourself good!”
