The actor has come a long way… Since 2006, Xavier Deluc has played Martin Bernier in the series Research Section. If the actor has a series of projects and seems good about himself, he went through a very dark period, where he was addicted to drugs and alcohol. On March 6, 2020, for Pure People, he remembered: “One fine day, I was on a horseback ride in South Africa and I decided to stop everything. I got up in the morning with this idea in mind. And I stopped everything overnight”.

The actor then explained: “I scared myself. I wish it hadn't happened like that… I tried to play tough, I paid the price. I risked my life, but I 'had the courage to want to get out of it'. In 1988, Xavier Deluc joined the Church of Scientology founded by science fiction author Ron Hubbard.

In 2013, for -Matin, the 66-year-old actor indicated: “Scientology allowed me to understand myself and to experience, with my real family, a harmony that I did not have (…) The reality is that I almost screwed up my life in the process. air”. Xavier Deluc: “The more it went, the less fun it was”

For Pure People, the actor regretted a few years ago: “Before I was a musician. I played rock in the provinces and I was taking drugs back then. It's a high school thing. So, did the pressure and the anxiety linked to acting speed things up? Maybe…”.

Visibly upset, Xavier Deluc added: “I already had this self-destructive fiber. I wasn't a drug addict either, but the more it went, the less fun it was.”. Today he seems to be doing much better.
