Jean Genet wrote “Le Funambule” as a love song to his then lover, Abdallah the tightrope walker. When Philippe Torreton decided to adapt it for the stage, he enlisted the services of pianist Boris Boublil and Julien Posada to declaim Genet between heaven and earth.
