Miss France 2025: why the preparation trip takes place in Ivory Coast

Guaranteed change of scenery. The thirty young women who dream of receiving the crown of Miss France 2025 are preparing their bags. They will take the plane at the end of the week for the traditional preparation trip. The direction will be new: Ivory Coast. The Overseas Territories have been favored in recent years.

On the program for the Misses: activities to get to know each other, tests such as the general knowledge test or dictation, photo sessions and parade and posture classes, sporting activities or immersion in the local culture at edge of the Atlantic for around ten days. It is at the end of this stay that the organizers will choose the 15 candidates they prefer.

Young women aged 18 to 34

This summer camp of beauty queens takes a particular form this reason because of the age of the young women. The age limit to run for Miss France was 25 until recently. This year, the oldest Miss Martinique is 34 years old. Six candidates are between 26 and 34 years old while the youngest are 18 years old.

Ivory Coast focuses on tourism

A majority of French people know little about the Ivory Coast: its football team which won the last African Cup of Nations, musicians like Alpha Blondy or the memory of the violent civil war which raged in from 2002.

For Ivory Coast, which approached the Miss France competition, the stated objective is to attract more French tourists in the coming years thanks to the images of the stay which will be broadcast in prime time on TF1: Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, the idyllic beaches of Grand-Bassam… Ivory Coast wants to climb into the Top 5 most visited African destinations by the end of 2025 thanks to its tourism strategy “Sublime Ivory Coast”.

The election of Miss France 2025 will take place on Saturday December 14 at Futuroscope in Poitiers, live on TF1, presented by Jean-Pierre Foucault.
