François Ruffin presents his film in preview in Sarlat, several hundred people at the screening

The Le Rex cinema, in Sarlat, had a full house this Friday, November 1. According to the organizers, nearly 700 people came to the preview of the latest film Au Boulot! of the left-wing MP, François Ruffin. Four months after the legislative elections, and while the National Rally won three of the four constituencies of Dordogne, the screening of the film was very political.

A very political projection

I came out of political convictionexplains Alexia bluntly. This teacher who lives in Montignac reserved her places several days in advance. She did not want to miss the arrival of the deputy François Ruffin. A stone's throw from her, in the queue in front of the cinema, Clémentine came with a group of friends, she said, laughing: “we wanted to see an MP with whom we agree”. In the town of Clémentine, an RN deputy came first in the last legislative elections. “We still have it in our throat”confides the young Thenonnaise.

It is also the result of the last legislative elections in the 1st constituency of Dordogne which motivated Max to come to this screening. His constituency fell into the hands of the far-right last July. Since then, the retiree wants to act: we are trying to find arguments to counter the local stupidity of the National Front!”

For Eloïse, a young psychology student, it is not so much arguments that she is looking for at this screening, but rather support: “These are films that lift our spirits, that give hope, we tell ourselves that all is not lost. In a country where we feel that there is a shift taking place, we come to cheer up a little and regain political convictions.”
