In 2022, Netflix unveiled a new romantic comedy which was quickly crowned with success. It's about the movie Dangerous connections.
In the cast of this adaptation of the novel of the same name, there is Paola Locatelli who plays the role of Célène. It was in 2015 that the young woman became known to the public thanks to her YouTube channel. When she was 12 years old, she launched her own Star Styles collection, in collaboration with the online store Lesara. Subsequently, she became the face of the Puma brand before creating her own perfume with the luxury brand Louis Vuitton.
Paola Locatelli talks about filming intimate scenes
Following the release of the film on Netflix, Paola Locatelli gave an interview to our colleagues at
Purebreak where she confided in the filming of intimate scenes. The young actress, now 20 years old, revealed that these sequences are very supervised, notably with the presence of an intimacy coordinator who accompanies the actors.
“It was really very supervised. We were naked but we had plenty of hiding places everywhere. As for the swimsuit, we had some special panties so you couldn't see anything, I had a sheet around me. (…) It's a small crew, so all the people who aren't actually needed during filming go to another room. (…) I really learned to forget the cameras, I am in the essence of the scene, in the emotion“she said.
Paola Locatelli: a young woman with many hats
Followed by 2 million subscribers on Instagram, 1.6 million on TikTok and more than 500,000 on YouTube, Paola Locatelli is a very popular influencer. But its role in Dangerous connections introduced her to the love of comedy that she has had since she was little. Two very different jobs that fill her with happiness.
“I love influence! I'm comfortable with that, I love fashion, I'm super grateful to attend fashion week shows (…) I'm not naive, influence pushes certain producers to take me because They say it will get more views. Paradoxically, in the prestigious world of cinema, some will never hire an influencer (…) Cinema is beautiful France, art, culture. Influence, in people's minds, is superficial, it's easy money, it's taking Instagram photos.”
she informed the Figaro before adding:
“I only participate in castings that allow me to have another life, like being a pilot.”
Paola Locatelli always wanted to be an actress
This passion for cinema does not start today. Even when she was little, she dreamed of becoming an actress. “When I was little, my mother filmed me with a camcorder. When she asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I already answered actress”she admitted before revealing: “I did a casting call for La Grande Récré, and I played in five five-minute episodes to present toys (…) I told my mother: that’s what being an actress is all about.”
Paola Locatelli then specified: “It’s an untouchable profession, especially since my parents aren’t in the business. My parents are reassured that I have influence on the side because it allows me to pay my rent and live. Cinema is still too unstable.” After her success on Netflix, Paola Locatelli will appear in Fast which will be in theaters in February 2025.
