I think that nothing replaces emotional security, being there, spending time. (…) I would never put my family at risk for my job. (…) That completes everything. They come first“. When he goes on film far away from his family, the actor makes a point of connecting very often “on video with his children”. A way to never be too far from them for very long.

During a previous interview with our colleagues from Paris Match, Tahar Rahim had revealed how important his relationship with his wife, who is also his best friend, was. He also made it known that she was understanding when he was away for filming.
“Leïla is a unique, exceptional person, she understands everything. She knows me. And then, when I'm there, I'm really there. (…) She literally carries me. And it is not a relationship of submission, that is very clear between us. I say it often, she is also my best friend. So, it finds its balance in our functioning“, he confided about his wife. A very united couple since their first meeting in 2008, already 16 years ago.
