the shocking images of “Complément d’investigation” manipulated? “The camera was not focused on him”

The Sunday Newspaper
(JDD) recently revealed damning new elements concerning the Gérard Depardieu affair. These reveal major inconsistencies during the broadcast
Further investigation which was dedicated to him.

The revelations of JDD come from the reports of three key witnesses. They cast a shadow over the editing of the show and suspicions of manipulation. Between twisted truths and disappearance of evidence, the
JDD tries to clarify the Gérard Depardieu affair
.

Controversial filming of the show on Gérard Depardieu

The broadcast of December 7, 2023, entitled Gérard Depardieu: the fall of the ogrehighlighted a controversial actor. He was accused of multiple inappropriate behaviors, notably through a specific scene filmed in a stud farm.
The actor was heard making obscene remarks
as a little girl appeared on screen riding a pony. Disturbing words like: “ If he ever gallops, she cums. That’s good girl, keep going » sparked public outrage. The day after its broadcast, Yann Moix, present during filming in North Korea in 2018, denounced fraudulent and rigged editing. The family of Gérard Depardieu, through Julie Depardieu, also reacted. She mentions in particular “ suspicious cutaways » and an attempt to damage the actor’s image.

But the decisive turning point in this affair comes with the declaration of Emmanuel Baert, editor of the show Further investigation. During his hearing on January 12, 2024, the latter admitted under oath that “ the camera was not focused on Gérard Depardieu » during the famous scene at the stud farm.
An announcement to remember. Indeed, it could confirm that the images showing the actor and the little girl are not authentic, in the sense that they were taken at different times, disconnected from the dialogues heard. Note, however, that the officer in charge of the interrogation does not seem to have explored this information further. An element which raises questions about the way in which this case has been handled so far.

Contradictions and vagueness around the rushes with Gérard Depardieu

This Wednesday, October 16, the JDD announces having had access to depositions of two other protagonists of the report. This is Anthony Dufour, founder ofHikari
Productions
the company that produced the editing, and Damien Fleurette, the director. During his hearing, Anthony Dufour contradicted himself several times. Indeed, when questioned about viewing the rushes – the raw recordings of the filming – he initially stated that he had only seen “ small pieces
“. Then he declares that the “ the most significant elements have been broadcast “. A response which leaves doubt about the integrity of the final edit.

As for Damien Fleurette, his testimony is hardly more enlightening. He affirms that Gérard Depardieu spoke well to the little girl. But, he adds that the editor, Emmanuel Baert, did not view all of the rushes. This information
would then reinforce the hypothesis of biased editing. Because how was the editor able to assemble sequences without knowing the entire context? The argument that ” very little assembly » would have been carried out on these scenes would therefore be very fragile according to commentators.

Gérard Depardieu affair: the mystery of the missing rushes

The affair takes an even stranger turn when we look at the fate of the famous rushes. These twenty-hour recordings, which could have made it possible to verify the veracity of the facts, are now impossible to find. Anthony Dufour admits during his hearing that he does not know where they are. He even specifies thatthey could have been destroyed. Damien Fleurette, for his part, declares that the authentication of the rushes was validated by a bailiff at Télévisions. But it remains unclear as to where these tapes were kept. This absence of material elements leaves one wondering considerable doubt on the whole affair.

Faced with these revelations, the group France Télévisions remains silent. While the production company
Hikari downplays the importance of the images, calling the rushes ” without much interest “, current events demonstrate on the contrary their crucial nature. In May 2024, the court had already ordered the submission of the rushes to clarify the situation, dismissing the argument of “ secret of sources » brandished by France Télévisions. However, to date, no official communication has been made on the subject, and the video tapes remain inaccessible.
