Did this dream save Mark Ruffalo?
Early 2024, during his appearance on the podcast SmartLess, Mark Ruffalo returned to an extraordinary experienceexperienced around twenty years earlier. The actor, crowned with the success of Poor creaturesfor which he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, spoke on a strange premonitory dream… While his wife Sunrise Coigney was preparing to give birth to their child, Keen, the star woke up one morning, convinced he had a brain tumor.
It wasn’t even a voice. It was just pure knowledge : “You have a brain tumor and you need to take care of it immediately“.
After the examination, the doctor returns, “a bit like a zombie” and tells him the diagnosis:
You have a mass on the left ear the size of a golf ball. We don’t know what it is. We can’t know until there’s a biopsy.
Unwilling to distress his wife, pregnant with their son, Mark Ruffalo said nothing to her until the intervention. When he informed him of the situation, At first she thought it was a joke!
At first she thought I was joking, then she burst into tears and said: “I always knew you were going to die young“.
If we know today that this is not the case, at the time, the couple could not have led much… Fortunately, this non-cancerous tumore, called “acoustic neuroma”, which develops on the nerve of balance and acoustics, and the removal of which can cause deafness. Mark Ruffalo nevertheless had no problem continuing his successful career in Hollywood, even if he can no longer hear in his left ear!
