After more than two years of relationship and a baby born earlier this year, Halle Bailey and DDG have separated.
An unexpected announcement. Halle Bailey, member of the duo Chloe x Halle that she forms with her older sister, ended her relationship with her partner DDG, less than a year after the birth of their son, Halo.
“After much consideration and heartfelt supportive conversations, Halle and I have decided to separate. This decision was not easy, but we believe it is the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we spent together and the love we shared,” DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., said on Instagram on Thursday, October 3.
“Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still the best of friends and we adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we have built and the beautiful moments we have shared,” he continued.
Happy news at the start of the year
The couple made their relationship official on Instagram on the occasion of the “Little Mermaid” actress’ birthday in March 2022. Three months later, Halle Bailey and DDG appeared on the BET Awards red carpet.
On January 7, 2024, the singer announced on social media that they had welcomed their first child, son Halo, in secret.
“Welcome to the world, my halo. The world desperately wants to know you,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of her newborn’s little hand.
