Philippe, the father of actress Marie Gillain, was robbed of his collection of Nazi objects worth more than a million and a half euros

In the owner’s absence, numerous objects belonging to one of the most important collections in Europe and consisting of flags, armbands, uniforms and Nazi insignia were stolen from his home.

Shortly after the disappearance of the objects, Marc V left Belgium. The warehouse was not raided until several months later. Certain disputed objects were reportedly found on site. The man is not only being prosecuted for this theft, but also a breach of trust whose victim is Philippe Gillain in the context of the sale of certain collector’s items. The man completely denied the facts put against him. “We didn’t find anything that had disappeared“, indicated the defendant. “Philippe Gillain knew exactly who was in this box. Several people were aware of the existence of this collection and other people had the key to the premises.

Marie Gillain’s sister wanted to testify to share the words of their dad who died recently. “My father never fully recovered from that theft“, she said. “It was horrible. This is a lifetime’s work. Everything converges towards his guilt.“Marie Gillain and her sister have become civil parties for the value of the objects which amounts to a minimum of 1,544,000 euros, a breach of trust of 50,000 euros and 5,000 euros of moral damage.
