Mark your calendars! The next season of Star Academy starts soon. It’s on October 12 that the kick-off will be given on TF1, during a prime which already promises to be exceptional. After which all the new candidates and amateur singers will join the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys to start their great adventure. The program’s press conference has already promised that it will be memorable because several major changes have been presented. The teams of Star Academy notably revealed the faculty almost entirely renewed.
If Malika Benjelloun retains her place as dance teacher and Lucie Bernardoni that of coach, their colleagues are replaced. Exit Adeline Toniutti, Cécile Chaduteau, Pierre de Brauer and Coach Joeyet present these last two seasons. The students will now be prepared by Sofia Morgavi for singing, Marlène Schaff for stage expression, Hugues Hamelynck for theater and Ladji Doucouré for sport.
Ladji Doucouré announces the requirement
The latter is more than legitimate to train the candidates, he who has been world champion in the 110m hurdles. He has already shared his expertise in the world of sport with students at INSEP, where he is a trainer. So, taking on this new challenge does not scare him. “I know the program, I know the routine and today, I felt capable of giving my opinion or providing support in the sense that I do it with ordinary people, people who are in need, who are not not necessarily professionals in the field“, he confided to RMC Sport. But be careful, Ladji Doucouré does not intend to spare anyone: “I’m going to be much more demanding with pros, but for me they are semi-pros so I’m going to be just as demanding with them“.
The former finalist of Dancing with the stars is already eager to get started but, unfortunately, according to his words, he does not have the support of all those close to him. “I look, people are more or less happy. I always explain the same thing. We sometimes ask you to take on challenges, this is one of them. Some are very happy, others don’t understand“, he admitted to our colleagues.
No matter, Ladji Doucouré is calm with his decision. “The high-level athlete must have the ability to adapt, he is constantly questioned, often criticized for his position as an athlete. Often he has to be the example for everyone. People have the right to express their opinions, but for us it doesn’t change anything as long as we know why we do things. (…) Today, I’m changing terrain, but it’s something I know how to do“.
