In a few weeks, Louis Chedid will release his 18th album, entitled Dreamer, dreamer. On Wednesday, September 4, the man with a 50-year career behind him unveiled a new song called I am here. On the occasion of this news, Matthieu Chedid’s father spoke to our colleagues at

At 76, the musician seeks more than ever to make his audience feel emotions. “When I did We never tell the people we love enough that we love them.I found it cheesy, but everyone encouraged me to release it. I no longer have any modesty at all at this level. We are so overwhelmed with negativity, I don’t want to participate in that… I defend the joy of living, I want to solarize people’s lives”he confides, always very optimistic and enthusiastic.

Indeed, this new opus undoubtedly marks the end of his immense five-decade career. “That may be what will happen,” he laughs. “I don’t say so, but I’ve thought about it, it’s true. It could be a final album.” I can’t imagine stopping, I still want to make songs, but if life stops me and this is my last record, I’ll be happy. “That’s a good summary of what I’ve done.”
