Eyes have been on the White House since Donald Trump took over the keys. If his wife Melania Trump has already been talked about for her looks – we remember her daring hat worn at the inauguration ceremony – there is another who does not go unnoticed: his daughter Ivanka. Recent years have witnessed a radical change in the look of the politician and businesswoman. Goodbye dapper colors, small straps, bustiers and slit dresses, the American has (partially) cleaned up her wardrobe. Strutting in long coats and other chic, understated jacket-and-pants outfits, her style is unmistakably reminiscent of that of a crowned head, including the most famous of them all, Kate Middleton. Would she have taken the Princess of Wales, who has become a fashion reference, as a model?

Ivanka Trump attracted attention as she arrived at the Washington National Cathedral in a long vermilion red coat, a bow adorning her bodice. A custom-made Italian wool crepe model by the British label Suzannah London which, in addition to being one of Kate Middleton’s favorite brands, bore a striking resemblance to an outfit worn four years earlier by the Princess of Wales.
For her traditional Together at Christmas concert, the daughter-in-law of King Charles III chose an elegant Catherine Walker coat. If Ivanka Trump had associated it with a pair of black leather boots, the princess did not worry about the winter temperatures and matched it with a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps.
There was an air of déjà vu in this pine green Dior suit and skirt set, highlighted by a thin black leather belt. Ivanka Trump, Lady Dior in hand and fascinator on top of her sophisticated bun, had chosen a sober and chic style to attend her father’s inauguration ceremony. A look that was reminiscent of that of Kate Middleton during a visit to Leicester with Queen Elizabeth II in 2012. Kate preferred to accessorize her dark green ensemble from LK Bennett with a buckled belt gold and a black fascinator, topped with a fancy bow.
Evening dresses
Black gloves worn with a white dress, Kate Middleton and Ivanka Trump are both fond of them. Ivanka Trump offered her moment of Hollywood glamor at the Liberty Ball by wearing a Givenchy dress, the exact replica of the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film Sabrinain 1954. Kate Middleton had already tried the daring combination by attending the BAFTAs ceremony in February 2023. Her Alexander McQueen dress, already worn at this cinema event in 2019, had been reworked at the shoulder level and accessorized with a pair of long black Cornelia James gloves.
Almost copied and pasted. Distinguished guest at the London premiere of the section No Time to Die from the James Bond saga, the Princess of Wales, more glamorous than ever, had scattered a shower of glitter and sequins in her wake. Her now famous ball gown, whose long cape elegantly outlined her shoulders, was by Jenny Packham.
