Hello everyone and welcome to this a little late weekly summary on Netflix news in the United States during these last seven days. We took a little time to present this summary to you, because two captivating films (in the figurative and literal sense) had just joined the platform this Saturday, and we wanted to offer you a complete overview. As always, we will also make you an overview of the most popular films and series on Netflix US at the end of the article.
As you may have noticed this week, we had the opportunity to discover all of the new films and series that will land on Netflix in February. We also endeavored to update our complete outings planned for 2025.
Before diving into the complete list of new releases, here are some strengths:
To watch on Netflix this weekend
Saturday Night (2024)
Note : R
Language : English
Genre : Biography, Comedy, Drama
Director: Jason Reitman
Actors: Gabriel LaBelle, Rachel Sennott, Cory Michael Smith
Scriptwriters: Gil Kenan, Jason Reitman
Duration : 109 min / 1h 49m
At the start, Saturday Night seemed to be able to enter into discussions on the awards, even if this craze has faded. However, our enthusiasm for this chaotic comedy depicting the hours preceding the first live broadcast of the famous NBC show remains intact. With a starry distribution embodying great figures having made their debut in the program in 1975, the film is well written, is full of laughter, and leaves questions about the way in which this program was able to see the light of day.
Obviously, being a film by Sony Pictures, you can only watch it on the premium formulas of Netflix. Not all films on the platform are available on the option with advertising.
Aj Fikry’s romanticized life
Note : PG-13
Language : English
Genre : Comedy, drama
Director: HANS HANGE
Actors: Christina Hendricks, Lucy Hale, David Arquette
Screenwriter: Gabrielle Zevin
Unfortunately, one of the films that has not yet managed to settle in Netflix rankings is comedy Aj Fikry’s romanticized lifeinterpreted by Lucy Hale. However, we want to give it a whole recommendation here. Alongside Kunal Nayyar and Christina Hendricks, this film adapts Gabrielle Zevin’s novel and follows the misadventures of a bookstore owner, AJ Fikry, who crosses a difficult period, until the arrival of a mysterious visitor.
The film met a mixed welcome from criticism when it was released three years ago, although the public’s notes are far superior. In their opinion, Movieweb concluded: “Between the soundtrack at the Hallmark and certain narrative twists and turns that may seem captivating in writing, but too syrupy on the screen, Fikry is struggling to find his balance between earth-to-terre and grandiose. Most criticism of spectators point out that chemistry on screen and performance make all the difference. ”
-The Night Agent (Saison 2)
Number of episodes: 10
Note : TV-ma
Language : English
Genre : Action, Drame, Thriller
Distribution : Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Evans-Akingbola Bet
Gabriel Basso is back for this long -awaited season 2 of Shawn Ryan’s series, inspired by Matthew Quirk’s novels. Peter Sutherland faces new challenges this season with a new role and a new place to explore. The series retains the thrilling writing that made the success of season 1, and fortunately, season 3 is already in production, which means that we should not have to wait too long for new episodes.
