The legendary Judi Dench can no longer move alone. A situation that the British star owes to vision problems which require her to be systematically accompanied.
“I can’t anymore, because I can’t see and I’m going to bump into something or fall,” she confided to the podcast microphone Fearless de Trinny Woodall.
A situation which at least allows her to avoid something she has never appreciated: red carpets! “I was never good at it anyway, walking red carpets alone,” she joked.
A common disease
If Judi Dench had revealed that she suffered from macular degeneration in 2012, the actress wanted to put her condition into perspective.
-“This is something that thousands and thousands of people around the world have to deal with,” she said. “It’s something I’ve learned to live with and adapt to. »
Indeed, this disease, which causes a progressive and permanent loss of central vision, is the leading cause of blindness in people over 50.
