About fifty young people from remote communities in northern Manitoba are enjoying a fun-filled weekend at Camp Manitou in Winnipeg, under the aegis of the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Center association.
In addition to the entertainment sessions, the young people have a busy program with workshops, including an educational session on mental health.
Taylinn Tssessaze, originally from the First Nation Northlands Denesulinelocated in northwest Manitoba, is participating in this camp for the third time.

On Saturday, the young people took to the ice with former National Hockey League players, like Ray Neufeld.

To make the stay as smooth as possible, young leaders accompany the children throughout the journey, like Iliana Mason, who comes from the Sagkeeng First Nation. She recognizes the importance of these excursions for young indigenous people.
