While the Oscar nominations were marked by the fact that “Emilia Pérez” became the most nominated non-English language film of all time, Timothée Chalamet also made history at the ceremony. By being nominated in the best actor category for his role in “A Perfect Stranger”, the 29-year-old actor joins the club of men having received two nominations before the age of 30, revealed this January 23, 2025 “Variety” .

As a reminder, the Franco-American had already been nominated in the same category in 2017 for his performance in “Call Me By Your Name”. As the American media mentions, the last actor to have achieved this feat was James Dean who was nominated posthumously in 1956 and 1957. American actors Mickey Rooney and Marlon Brando are also part of this club.

Note also that it is Adrien Brody who holds the record for the youngest winner of the Oscar for best actor. He was crowned in 2002 for his role in “The Pianist” and was then 29 years old. An auspicious sign for Timothée Chalamet? We will know on March 2, 2025.
