It’s never too late to discover new hobbies, and Maxime Chattam has proven it. Guest of the show La table des bons vivant, on Europe 1, Saturday January 18, the author of detective novels showed that he had more than one string to his bow. Indeed, Faustine Bollaert’s husband recently discovered a new passion: cooking. When he’s not working on his next book, the 48-year-old can be found behind the stove. “Six months ago, I would have told you that I love to eat, but that I am incapable of cooking anything except pasta. And for three months, I have spent my life in the kitchen,” he confided to Laurent Mariotte.
Maxime Chattam has even imposed a new routine: having “a whole quiet hour” during the day to cook good dishes for himself and his loved ones. “I turn off the phone, I put on some music and then I rub my hands,” he said enthusiastically. And this is not to displease Faustine Bollaert. “She gave me an apron for cooking at Christmas,” he confessed. “Yesterday, we made a salmon carpaccio with citrus fruits with a little mango and then green beans that I browned in soy sauce. And it was very good,” he then assured , proud of his recipes.
