“If he comes, I’m leaving”: figure of M6, Karine Le Marchand has put her resignation in the balance in the face of a possible arrival, according to her, of Cyril Hanouna in her audiovisual group, she indicated Friday at Libération.
David Larramendy, the president of the M6 group, “confirmed to me that they were thinking about bringing him in”, assured Karine Le Marchand, at the helm of the flagship M6 show “L’amour est dans le pré” for fifteen years.
According to her, the arrival of this star but controversial host would be “catastrophic” in “terms of images”, and opposing it is “an ethical question”.
Asked by AFP, the M6 group did not comment.
Hanouna’s channel, C8, will end on February 28. And its retention within the Canal+ group “is not confirmed”, even if this is what the company wishes, its president, Maxime Saada, indicated in early January.
For several months, rumors have been rife about its possible landing strip.
According to media observer Clément Garin and Libération, the conductor of the TPMP show is in discussions to join the M6 group, perhaps on the W9 channel and RTL radio.
“There is no question that I am in the same group and in the same photo as a person who has harassed me, despised me and insulted me non-stop for seven years, who openly criticizes me, who has gone very, very far for a long time “, protested Karine Le Marchand in Libération.
-“If he comes, I’m leaving. I hope that another group will be kind enough to host me,” says the one who sits on the podium of the French’s favorite presenters.
In 2020, M6 was moved by “particularly denigrating remarks” against Karine Le Marchand in TPMP. The group had suspended all participation of its hosts in this show.
Arcom, the audiovisual regulator, excluded C8 and NRJ 12 in the reallocation of eleven DTT (digital terrestrial television) frequencies. The Council of State must still examine appeals from the two channels.
Owned by the Canal+ group, in the hands of conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré, C8 has accumulated fines of 7.6 million euros due to Hanouna’s slip-ups.
He himself put forward a “serious idea” at the beginning of January: switching to CStar, another channel of the Canal+ group, for “a TPMP-type talk show from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.”.
In recent months, he has also mentioned the project of broadcasting programs on the internet.
