Piriformis syndrome causes pain or numbness in the lower and back of the leg, compressing the sciatic nerve. Little is known about this flat, deep muscle of the buttock located near the hip and which owes its name to its pear shape, but Andie MacDowell can testify to it and that’s what she did!

If we know even less about the pain it can cause, the actress confirmed that she has been through it. It all started with “throbbing pain in my leg” to the point that she thought she was going to “have to have a hip replacement”, as the 66-year-old actress confided in the show The Drew Barrymore Show THURSDAY.

A miracle

So no scalpel for the star ofA day without endwhich focused on sport and adapted exercises.

“I need to work on my little butt and my hips. I do it every day,” she explained to her colleague. And against all odds, “it doesn’t hurt anymore, it’s a miracle, really,” adds the woman who left Los Angeles.

“I moved to South Carolina and I live with a community that has a lot of people my age, so it’s really easy to socialize,” Andie MacDowell said.

However, not everything is good for someone who claims to be a sports fan. “When I was working out like crazy on the Peloton (a brand of exercise bike) – which wasn’t right for my body – I ended up with bad knees and a bad hip, and I didn’t realize(. ..)
