You are very rare on television. What made you want to participate in this program?
I only work at heart. The idea was touching, so I said to myself ‘why not’. But I must admit that I did not expect to feel so many emotions. We had already made two documentaries (“Once upon a time … Dorothée “, broadcast on TMC in 2010 and” The fabulous story of Dorothée “in 2013 on AB1, editor’s note), I thought it might be an opportunity to do something else.
Did you have apprehensions?
Yes ! I did not know what to expect and I also feared that there was not enough material. I knew I was going to have surprises, suddenly, I expected everything and nothing.
Is there a moment in the bonus that particularly touched you?
I felt an incredible emotion in the audience at the very beginning of the show, it really took me to the heart and I almost crack. We just had just started, I was not going to be remquilled! All moments were strong.

What has the “Club Dorothée” represented for you?
-A series of adventures, but also a way to make charitable shows like “The Noëls of Friendship”. It allowed me to help others to the maximum without doing miserabilism. And then it was a way of trying to relax the atmosphere, to make kids who could not go on vacation start with us and feel less alone.
The show was also widely criticized, the cartoons were accused of stupefying children. Did that hurt you?
It’s always worth being criticized for something you think. But the important thing was not the opinion of adults, but the feeling of viewers. Children knew how to differentiate between fiction and reality. Manga has been criticized a lot at the time when today it became something very popular. Nicky Larson has become a film and Cat’s Eyes A series. Mentalities are evolving, and so much the better!

How did you react during the “Club Dorothée” stop?
By starting this job, I told myself that one day it was going to stop. Once the shock has passed, we tell ourselves that we have to move forward and take advantage of it to do something else. Life continues. I was lucky to take it well, because I didn’t want to do TV to make TV. I stayed in touch with spectators, I had support messages, poems, drawings. I still receive it today.
You left TV a long time ago. Is there a concept or an idea that could make you come back?
I am not closed to any project, as I said, I react to the crush. If I like it, I go, if I don’t like it, I give up. I was offered certain things, but nothing that seduced me. Perhaps there will be a role of grandmother for me in the cinema or in a series!
