Laurent Paquin leads the Olivier nominations

Comedians Laurent Paquin, Marthe Laverdière, Rosalie Vaillancourt and Mégan Brouillard are leaving with a head start for the next Gala Les Olivier, which will be broadcast on March 23 on ICI Télé and ICI Tou.TV.

Laurent Paquin himself finds himself nominated for four awards: show of the year, text of the year for a comedy show, direction of the year and best seller. If we count the nomination of Mathieu Paradis in the category of visual design of the year, the comedian and his fifth solo show Distracted Crocodile garnered a total of five nominations.

Marthe Laverdière and Rosalie Vaillancourt are mentioned in four categories each. Their respective shows – Marthe Laverdière puts on a show! et MILF – compete in the popular category of comedy show of the year, alongside those of Laurent Paquin, Guillaume Pineault (Vulnerable) et Neev (No need to add sauce).

Rosalie Vaillancourt is also in the running for the prestigious Olivier of the year, as are Mona De Grenoble, Katherine Levac, Arnaud Soly and Mike Ward.

Four nominations for Mégan Brouillard

Mégan Brouillard, a newcomer in humor, was selected in four categories, notably for her web act Mission menstruations. She could also go and collect the discovery of the year trophy.

The other emerging comedians competing in this category are David Beaucage, Liliane Blanco-Binette, Rachel Élie and Sam Vigneault, the latter is also nominated for the comedy act of the year for ADHD.

Arnaud Soly comes away with three nominations in total, including one for his web capsule entitled Arnaud Jolicoeur, mortgage broker.

Note also that the third season of This is how I love you is in the running for comedy fiction series of the year, as is the third season of The eye of the storm.

The next Les Olivier Gala will take place on March 23 at 8 p.m. and will be hosted by comedian Korine Côté, who also participated in writing the texts in 2021 and 2022. A total of 11 trophies will be awarded.

The Industry Galaneswhich will be held earlier the same day at the Studio-Cabaret de l’Espace St-Denis, will be hosted by Mike Beaudoin, who will present 10 Oliviers.

Last year, Cathy Gauthier and Eve Côté hosted the 25^e gala, which led to the crowning of comedian Mathieu Dufour for Olivier of the year, while Philippe-Audrey Larue-St-Jacques won the show and author of the year trophies for Child of the century.
