The future president of the United States indeed visited the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a symbolic gesture for honor the memory of fallen soldiers and thus mark the start of a mandate under the sign of respect and national dignity.
After this solemn moment, the ex-president headed to Washington for a final major demonstration of popular support before taking the oath of office.

For the occasion, Melania Trump also made a notable appearance alongside her husband, during his visit to Arlington Cemetery in Virginia.
