Taylor Swift, Kylie Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio… Generous donations from stars for Los Angeles

Faced with the fires in Los Angeles which forced more than 200,000 residents to evacuate in a week, American celebrities – sometimes having lost their Californian homes themselves – are putting their hands into their wallets to support associations and victims. Significant financial aid which goes, for the majority of them, to the Los Angeles firefighters (LAFD).

Whether they lost their homes, were born in the area or not, here are the celebrities who have publicly donated to help the city during these difficult times which have already caused the deaths of at least 25 people.

On Instagram, Taylor Swift said the damage in Los Angeles “broke his heart.” Encouraging her 282 million followers to give – given that she has proven that she can influence more than one with a simple speech – the singer shared a list of ten associations in the region. “Here are the ones I donated to. Leonardo DiCaprio also spoke out via Instagram about the fires. The Hollywood actor said he had raised more than a million dollars through his environmental association for “urgent needs and post-fire efforts”.
