Faced with the flames, the father did not hesitate: the priority was to shelter his loved ones, even if it meant losing everything. Patrick Bruel, who saw his house in Los Angeles go up in smoke in the fires that ravaged the City of Angels, remembers his evacuation.

After leaving the city when his neighborhood was among the next threatened by the flames, his youngest son, Léon (19 years old), was still there. “He was going to the airport. I had left the day before. He said to me: 'Should I go back home, save things? Maybe there's still time,' the singer told Variety.

“I said, ‘No way. Don’t even think about it,’” he concluded. A wise decision since a few hours later, the family lost their Californian home located in the upscale neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, not far from that of the Hallydays. “It’s a beautiful little village, a place where we felt extremely good.
