Princess Yasmine Murat and Philippe Etchebest become Rungis gastronomic ambassadors

This January 15, 2025, the Commanderie of Rungis ambassador gastronomes met in to welcome and induct new ambassadors. Princess Yasmine Murat and chef Philippe Etchebest were received during the chapter of this brotherhood which promotes gastronomy developed or marketed at the Rungis market.

Induction of the new Rungis gastronomic ambassadors

The Rungis National Interest Market (MIN) is the largest fresh produce market in the world. This market for professionals occupies 234 hectares on the outskirts of Paris. Each year, 3 million tonnes of goods including 1.8 million food products are sold and transit through Rungis, which represents a turnover of 10.3 billion euros. The table products which are transformed or exchanged in Rungis, contributing to the reputation of French gastronomy, are promoted by its Commanderie des gastronomes ambassadors.

This Wednesday, January 15, 2025, a gala evening was organized by Xavier España, grand master of the Commanderie des gastonomes ambassadors de Rungis, at the Cercle des Armées in Paris. The evening honored the new ambassadors appointed within the Commandery. Princess Yasmine Murat and chef Philippe Etchebest were among the new ambassadors. The gala evening began with a speech from the grand master of the Commanderie and a speech from Stéphane Layani, president of the Rungis International Market.

Princess Yasmine Murat joins the Rungis gourmet ambassadors

Princess Yasmine Murat, wife of the heir to the Maison Murat, defends French know-how and craftsmanship through her numerous actions. For her attachment to French heritage, in all its forms, including its cuisine and gastronomy, Princess Yasmine was received as a gastronomy ambassador of Rungis. This dignity was granted to her by the Grand Council and she made the commitment “to carry loud and clear, in all circumstances and in all places, the motto of the Commanderie”namely: “the best of the table is at Rungis”. Prince Joachim Murat was present with his wife during this enthronement evening.

Princess Yasmine, a graduate in political science, international relations and economic history, is the president of the French Radiation Prize. The famous chef Philippe Etchebest obtained his first Michelin star in 2001, following his takeover of L’Oison at the Château des Reynats in Dordogne, a year after being named best worker in France. Philippe Etchebest is known to the general public for his numerous participations in culinary shows broadcast on M6, either as an expert or as a jury, notably in the show Top Chef. Philppe Etchebest is a knight of the National Order of Merit and a knight of the Legion of Honor.
