MUSIC – An incredible surprise on the way to work. New Yorkers had the opportunity to attend a free Bad Bunny concert in the city’s underground on Monday January 13 as you can see in our video at the top of the article. The Puerto Rican superstar dressed up alongside host Jimmy Fallon to pose as a simple group of subway musicians.
Guest of Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon, the singer lent himself to the host’s well-known concept: going to a subway station with celebrities and pretending to be up-and-coming artists. They hid their faces with wigs, beards and a 1970s look and then began a revival of I Want It That Waythe Backstreet Boys hit.
Once the piece was finished, they removed their hairpieces and revealed their identities to the delight of the curious people who had stopped by. There, accompanied on the tambourine by Jimmy Fallo, Bad Bunny sang two songs, NuevaYol et DTMFfrom his new album I SHOULD TAKE MORE PHOTOS which is a tribute to his Puerto Rican roots. His project immediately climbed to first place in the streaming listening rankings on the reference site Billboard.
A residence in Puerto Rico
The same day, the global reggaeton star announced a 21-date residency on his native island, the first nine concerts of which are reserved for the local population. The 21 concerts will take place over several weekends starting July 11, in a hall with a capacity of 18,000 spectators in San Juan, the island’s capital.
