the essential
Tarnaise Louna Wiart, Miss National Elegance 2024, will return her crown within three months. As she tours France for the elections of future regional misses, the 19-year-old young woman looks back on an exceptional year.
Something is ending, something is beginning… The great adventure of Tarnaise Louna Wiart, originally from Labruguière, will end in a few weeks. Louna, 19, is indeed approaching the end of her year as “Miss National Elegance”, first of the name, a mandate she has held since her election last April. The young woman remembers her first steps as Miss, first Regional then National: “I wasn’t ready to receive the crown and the sash! It was incredible, I loved it!”
Two global competitions
Smiling and extroverted, Louna, who worked in a fast-food restaurant at the time, admits that the experience changed her. “I’m not at all shy, on the contrary. But I did a series of interviews, and when they put a microphone in front of me, it was complicated,” says with a laugh the one who, just after her French election, , followed the world competitions. Because, less than a month after becoming Miss National Elegance, Louna headed to Albania to participate in Miss Summer World. “It wasn’t a vacation,” says the Miss, smiling. “I was able to work on my English, and then there were a lot of rehearsals. Internationally, I also discovered that the competition aspect between the girls was really there!” She leaves this first trip to Albania with a Top10 and a “photogenic” prize.
At the end of September, return to Albania, for 3 weeks this time. As Miss French, she is qualified for Miss Globe. On the program, 60 candidates from all over the world, and a tour of the country for photo shoots. “It’s very well known there! We had a bus bearing the image of the competition!” Louna finished in the Top5 of the public votes. “I made friends. And then, I learned to parade, to be comfortable in front of the camera.”
Between competitions, Louna Wiart fulfills her “obligations” as a representative of National Elegance. She notably participated in Toulouse Fashion Week, and has just started her tour of France for the Miss Regional elections. She will also be, on February 1, in Gaillac-Toulza, in Haute Garonne, for the election of the Miss who will represent the Midi-Pyrénées. A Castraise is also a candidate. There will then be the national election, and the end of Louna’s “reign”.
So what does she learn from this experience? “Only good times. I never got upset, I had fun!” A baccalaureate when she was elected, she will resume her studies at the start of the next school year, to “work in the medical field, with children”. She comes out of the adventure with “confidence”. His mother, Lydia, is very proud. “She had never traveled alone! I saw that she was having fun, that she was enjoying the game.” Miss’s sash, however, is not yet taken off: she has several regional elections left to benefit from until the last moment.
