Open-hearted confidences. This Sunday, January 12, 2025, Marc Lavoine was present in the show Sept à Huit. Questioned by Audrey Crespo-Mara for Portrait of the Week, the singer returned to his private life, notably his very strong ties with his mother. Very moved, he returned to his death: “She died badly, my mother. I remember being at home and hearing myself say that if I don’t take her out of the clinic, she is going to die. I didn’t take it out because I didn’t want to piss off and annoy the neighbors and his friends. It was his little world”, he says.

Moreover, it is in honor of his mother that Marc Lavoine will sing The Revolver Eyes: “Brunette, she had a look of incredible purity, the gunshot eyes were hers. I was crazy about my mother”, he confides. And with her, the singer shared a heavy secret, which they never wanted to share with Marc Lavoine’s father: “She believed in God. I shouldn’t have told my father, who was a non-believer and a communist.. She was a courageous woman who did a lot of things, she took care of everything at home. Fortunately we were there, we filled our rather solitary life.” And when he talks about his father, Marc Lavoine is less complimentary.
