The broadcast by Netflix of a culinary series with Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, has been postponed for two months due to the fires ravaging Los Angeles, the duchess who lives in California said on Sunday.
Entitled “With Love, Meghan”, the eight-episode series with the Californian actress, whose projects since her resounding departure from the United Kingdom have enjoyed varying degrees of success, was due to be released on Wednesday.
But, due to the deadly fires raging in Los Angeles, the duchess indicated in a press release that she wanted to postpone the broadcast of this series in which she cooks and gardens with other celebrities the time to “focus on the needs of those affected by the fires.
She now lives with Prince Harry and the couple’s two children in Montecito, a wealthy town about 150 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles.
The youngest son of King Charles III and his wife recently visited fire survivors in Pasadena, a suburb of the megalopolis, and called on Californians to accommodate evacuees.
According to the British newspaper “The Telegraph”, they are housing relatives who have had to abandon their homes. Their teams did not respond to requests from AFP on this subject.
Since their shattering break with the monarchy in 2020, motivated in part by their desire for financial independence, the couple have launched several projects with varying success, especially when they are not linked to their difficult relationship with the royal family.
They were talked about for the documentary on Netflix where they settle scores with royalty, but the podcast launched by Meghan was stopped by Spotify after just one series.
In March, the actress launched her own brand, American Riviera Orchard, focused on tableware and homeware.
