Known for her character Mado la Niçoise, which she has played for many years, Noëlle Perna is making a small move towards boulevard theater. In “Last Flight” performed Friday January 17 in the Blue Room in Palavas, she plays a flight attendant who is on her last day. While she dreamed of the tropics, she was given . She takes revenge on everyone.

In Last Flightyou play Solly Berton, a flight attendant who has flight time on her clock and is making her last trip. She would like a long trip, but nothing happens the way she wants. So she decides to make everyone drool.

It’s a bit like that, yes. This is the journey of revenge. She’s going to make everyone pay for this trip because, yes, we’re not sending her where she wanted to go. She wanted a prestigious destination, and she was sent to Bergerac. This is a ridiculous theft for her.

What did you like about this room?

It’s comedy first, because I’m a woman of comedy. This character is a character with strong energy and an outgoing personality. I like that. And it’s well written. Jean-Marie Chevret has produced many successful plays which have been widely performed in . And the decor is original too. This is the first time we’ve seen this: the interior of a plane in a boulevard play. That too is part of the interest of the piece.

Do you necessarily use your cheekiness with lines that hit the mark? This is a tailor-made role for you.

So, yes it’s a role for me, but I don’t have the accent at all like in one-man shows. So it has nothing to do with what I usually do. He is a character without an accent but who has the same energy, that is to say very talkative, present. We can’t miss it. She’s the one calling the shots.

You give rhythm to the piece.

He’s the main character but there are still six actors in total. This is the real boulevard, very public with a lot of movement, entrances and exits. But we’re on a plane, and that’s very original. We have passengers, crew, and spectators who take the flight with us. A flight for laughs.

You go from Mado the Niçoise, to Solly the air hostess who is surrounded. Does the world around you feel good?

-

It’s a recreation for me. Carrying out a show alone, in writing, in acting, in everything, is another exercise than that. This one is really an exercise in entertainment and lightness. It’s not me who writes. It’s not me who directs. I’m just following the instructions of the director and the author. It’s fun for me, compared to what I usually do.

Olivier Macé had already staged you in Claw slash. You had already done theater, but doing boulevard remains marginal in your career. For what ?

This is not my main objective. Mado is such a strong character. People ask me Mado what. I also hope that people are not disappointed not to find Mado because she is so anchored in me, that it can be difficult for the viewer to see me elsewhere than in Mado. I remember, I did a show where I had several characters besides Mado and people weren’t necessarily happy to lose Mado. But I hope that with this piece, I will broaden the spectrum of the audience.

We also see you very little on screen, whether in films or in the cinema?

In the cinema, it’s not you who decides. We’ll call you. We are dependent on the call. But in television, I have a small short format project for 3. I would really like to do small short formats with Mado.

But nothing has been signed yet?

No. But I want to do it. This has been my project for a while.

You are preparing a future show in September. It is about Mado does his cabaret. Can you talk about it?

I’m with other actors. I got a taste for it you see (laughs). They are only artists from . I did a show even more rooted in Nice. The public from all sides will travel to the city with truly the fundamentals of Nice, not the polished side of the Côte d’Azur. The show is currently in progress. Mado is always with his sketches. She’s a bit of a loyal lady. She is doing a casting call for the cabaret she wants to put on. The public watches the casting.

Last flight. Friday January 17 at 8:30 p.m. Blue Room, 1 avenue de l’Abbé Brocardi, Palavas-les-Flots. Price: €38.
