An essential figure in French cinema, Jean Dujardin knew how to conquer the hearts of the French. Through his talent, his humor, his iconic roles and the successes that resulted from them (One guy, one girl, Brice de Nice, OSS 117, The Artist…), but also by its authenticity. No surprise, therefore, to find him once again among the 50 favorite personalities of the French.
The actor, who was recently featured with the new series adaptation of Zorro, has never hidden his love for France. “I like to love this country and I like to say it because I think that is the biggest problem of this country, is that it does not love itself or not enough”, he confided in particular in the show Sept à Huit (TF1).
Passionate about walking
An interview conducted at the time on the occasion of the film’s release On the black pathsin which he plays the travel writer Sylvain Tesson who decides to cross France on foot after a bad fall which leaves him with after-effects. During this interview, the 52-year-old actor also revealed that he was an avid walker. A passion that he has been practicing for several years. But not alone.
Each year, it is with his childhood friends, whom he met in CM1, that he leaves for several days to travel the trails… of France, of course. “We all wanted to meet again at 50 and take stock of his life as a father and husband,” he always said in the TF1 show.
But recently, while he was in full promotion for his role of the masked avenger, Jean Dujardin returned to these excursions. Guest of Télématin, the actor detailed the conditions in which he went hiking with his friends. “We do it the hard way,” he assures. Sleeping in tents or under the stars, except “when things really get cold, then we knock on people’s homes to ask them if they don’t have a garage”.
And the least we can say is that the group of friends has already seen the country! “We did Cantal recently, we did the customs routes in Brittany. We did the Valley of Wonders (Mercantour),” he explains. But then, when will we come across the Oscar-winning actor and his friends on our hiking trails? There is still plenty to have fun across our different massifs. Well, according to a French rugby legend, it could soon happen.
It’s during the radio show The Moscato show (december 20 broadcast), in which he is a consultant, that Philippe Saint-André made revelations. Asked to react to Jean Dujardin’s appearance on Télématin and his passion for walking, the former winger of the XV of France confided on RMC to having advised the actor, a rugby fan, for what could be one of his future getaways with friends. “I talked about it with him during the Olympics. He wants to go to the Vercors, he will contact me for that,” reveals the native of Romans-sur-Isère.
No precise date therefore, but for those who are lucky enough to live in the Vercors, know that it is not impossible that on a rainy or very cold evening, someone will come to ring or knock on your door to ask for shelter to sleep and you might be surprised when you open it.
