The choice of continuity! Tuesday January 7, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Cinémathèque de Toulouse unanimously re-elected Agnes Jaoui – screenwriter, director, actress, singer – as president of the association.
A new three-year mandate for Agnès Jaoui
President of the Cinémathèque de Toulouse since December 2021 – she succeeded the filmmaker Robert Guédiguian – Agnès Jaoui therefore begins a new three-year term.
An announcement which comes at a time when the Cinémathèque – a legendary cinema venue founded in 1964 – is in the midst of work: the institution on rue du Taur will have a third cinema room or even a new entrance.
-Ambitious work
Ambitious work to 4.1 million euros which require closure for many months. The reopening of the Cinémathèque is in fact planned for spring 2026. In the meantime, the programming takes place outside the walls.
Jean-François Tosti joins the Board of Directors
Besides Agnes Jaouiwere re-elected, also for a period of three years (2025-2028):
- Manuela Padoandirector of Gaumont Pathé Archives: vice-president;
- Christian Thoreldirector of the Ombres Blanches bookstore: vice-president;
- Alain Bouffartiguepresident of Ciné 32: treasurer;
- Isabelle Danieljournalist and film critic: secretary.
Jean-François Tostiproducer and co-founder of TAT productions, “joins the Board of Directors and completes the office as the sixth member”, specifies the Cinémathèque in a press release.
“I have been a producer at TAT productions, in Toulouse, for almost 25 years. Since day one, our company has maintained a strong link with the Cinémathèque which has always welcomed us, rue du Taur, with open arms for screenings of our works, exhibitions or even presentations of our current projects to local operators. We are also depositors and delighted to know that our creations are so conscientiously preserved on the Balma site,” declared Jean-François Tosti.
