On the occasion of the end-of-year celebrations, Prince Albert II spoke to Riviera Radio and said more about his daily life as a dad and about his twins, Jacques and Gabriella. Regarding their media coverage and their increasingly frequent appearances, he explained: “It has to be done in small steps. You don’t want to just sit them down and tell them everything they have to do. They still have to live their childhood and have fun with their friends. We do it in stages, taking them to different events, but not all. They become more and more aware of their role. We try to protect them from too much media attentionwhich is very difficult. But they are progressing well, and you will see them at regular intervals, without overloading them with commitments.” After Christmas, the husband of Charlene of Monaco spoke again and published a video to wish Monegasques a happy new year 2025. For a little over 2 minutes, the prince wished his subjects the best, taking the time to look back on the year just passed.
“The past year has been marked by challengesbut also by numerous successes and an unwavering solidarity which characterizes our Monegasque community. In these moments when we are turning a page to write a new one, I would like to pay tribute to your commitment, your resilience and your spirit of brotherhood.” he began. Then the brother of Caroline of Monaco continued: “In Monaco, we are lucky to live in a prosperous country, where the values of respect, openness and responsibility combine harmoniously. But this opportunity comes with a responsibility: that of continue to build a sustainable future focused on excellence for future generations“. He then wanted to have a special thought for those who are going through difficult times. “At this particular moment, my thoughts also go to those for whom this period is more difficult, to those who are suffering. To them, I want to send a message of hope and encouragement. Know that you are not alone, and that Monaco is a united family“, he assured, looking serious. Before finishing his video, the Prince of Monaco created a surprise since he had appeared alone throughout and found himself surrounded by Charlene and their two children when wishing a happy new year. Albert II first said happily: “In this moment of celebration and sharing, our children join us in sending you our best wishes. May this new year bring happiness, health and success to you and all those dear to you.” And to conclude with his family in French, English and Monegasque: “Happy New Year. Happy New Year. Happy Anu Noevu”.
A prince who calls for unity
During this speech, Albert II of Monaco also made a point of recalling his desire to cultivate a united principality. “The coming year will bring new projectsan opportunity to strengthen our environmental commitments, increase our solidarity with the most vulnerable and celebrate our common identity. Together, with determination and relying on the values that unite us, we will continue to meet the challenges that come our way.” he declared in the room of the palace where the magnificent Christmas tree, chicly decorated and unveiled shortly before New Year’s Eve on December 24, is still located. The couple thus chose to show a little more of their intimacy to the Monegasques in order to strengthen this bond of proximity which seems to unite them.
