She closed her account a few years ago and she’s back…
Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and wife of Prince Harry, reopened an Instagram account on January 1, 2025.
This account, @meghan, currently only has one video: we see her running on the beach all dressed in white, laughing out loud and writing in the sand, “2025”.
A return for this new year, noticed since the account already has more than 600,000 followers. Archie and Lily’s mother disappeared from Instagram five years ago, well almost. In 2024, she had still created a page to promote her products under the name American Riviera Orchard, but nothing had been posted online since this announcement.
It was in 2019 that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped using their Instagram account, where they had accumulated more than 10 million subscribers, when they officially withdrew from the royal family, beginning April 2020.
“A source close to the couple said they had ‘no plans’ to use social media for their new Archewell foundation and it was ‘highly unlikely’ they would return to the platforms in a personal capacity,” then affirmed the Sunday Times.
It seems that five years later, things have changed.
