British actress Olivia Hussey died Friday at the age of 73 in Burbank, California, her family announced. She won a Golden Globe for her role as a teenage Juliet in Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 film Romeo and Juliet.
“Olivia was a remarkable person whose warmth, wisdom and pure kindness touched the lives of all who knew her,” her family said in a statement posted on their Instagram account.
Born in Buenos Aires, Olivia Hussey was 15 when she and her partner Leonard Whiting, then 16, played the famous lovers in the Academy Award-winning adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy.
