Are you looking forward to this release after the success of the first part?
“I don’t feel stressed but rather excited. I’m lucky to have loyal fans. I can’t wait to see their reaction, to know what they think of this sequel. What happened with the first movie is so beautiful and amazing. I can’t wait any more. So I’m relaxed.“
What do you think makes the saga so successful?
“I don’t really know. The book has a large fan community. This must represent 70% of the film’s success. The latter is also a nice mix of lots of things: romance, action, thriller, suspense. Add to that two characters that people love. There is also a very strong main female character: Noah. It’s rare to see this type of character in a romantic film. And, yet, it represents our generation of strong women.“
What do you like about Noah’s character?
“She puts a lot of passion and impulsiveness into what she does. When she loves, she loves deeply. In this, I see myself a lot, Nicole.“
You have become a role model for many young girls. How do you experience it?
“I know that a lot of teenagers follow me and that I have a certain responsibility. For me, it’s not pressure. I don’t feel it as something heavy to carry on my shoulders. I am confident in myself and have good values. So I don’t think I’m a bad example for these girls. I’m like a big sister to them and I’m delighted to have this role.“
There are many more intimate scenes in this second part. How did you prepare them?
“We prepare this with an intimacy coordinator. We talk a lot about all these scenes beforehand. My partner knows where I don’t want him to touch me or in which situations I feel uncomfortable. The choreographer also knows which parts of my body I don’t want to show, for example. By preparing these scenes this way, we feel better, more at ease during filming. Also, when you know your partner (Gabriel Guevara and Nicole Wallace have already toured together in the past, Editor’s note.)we feel more confident and more at ease.“
What was the most difficult scene for you to shoot?
“The end, certainly. There was a lot of emotion and it was very long. My character needed to show loss and distress with a lot of truth. It took a lot of energy.“
Did you always want to become an actress?
“No way. As a child, I wanted to be a dancer. I have always been a performer. But, I wanted to be an artist, there’s no doubt about that.“
At only 22 years old, how do you deal with your notoriety?
“I’m very lucky because I’m very well surrounded. My family and friends help me keep my feet on the ground. I tell myself that my job as an actress allows me to earn money to live. Besides that, I enjoy the simple things in life. I have a normal and healthy life. I need this.“
